Teaching and Workshops
While I was in Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych Theatre (2009-2011) I began regularly to coach members of the company for upcoming auditions. At the time of writing this I have four students in West End shows!
I keep my coaching simple and focus on the needs of the individual student. The sessions are relaxed and enjoyable. Students who are relaxed and having fun can learn at a remarkable rate.
Whether you are auditioning for a drama school, a professional job, an amateur show or just want to flex your acting muscles I can help!
I have led many Shakespeare workshops in Essex schools for GCSE and A level students. I also directed an hilarious all girl production of John Godber s Bouncers for Eastwood school!
I have worked with amateur companies in Southend, Leigh, Saffron Walden, Arundel, Cambridge and Aldburgh as dialect coach, basic stage combat instructor, scene study coach and director.
I directed a very successful production of Fiddler on the Roof for Southend Operatic and Dramatic Society and will be directing their 2013 production of Guys and Dolls.
Having worked with business people on presentations I have found that the problems faced by public speakers are by and large the same as those faced by actors. Standing up in front of people can give us all the jitters. But those nerves are simply misplaced energy. Once you are confident about your performance or presentation the jitters become excitement. How about actually looking forward to making a presentation?
So why not practice that presentation with someone who can help? And have some fun along the way!
